Abstract:
There are organizations and institutions with sub units located remotely either in the samecity or in different places. These sub units are maintaining their own databases using a varietyof database management systems (DBMS) depending upon their own requirements. Theauthorities at the headquarters require accessing and updating the data of the sub-unitsfrequently. Thus they require data timely and also need to know about the syntax andsemantics of the DBMS being used by the sub units. This is a very tedious job. DBCS hasbeen designed to make the job easy for such organizations. It is a web based application andhence one can access the databases from anywhere. The application hides the complexities ofDBMS behind one interface so any user can use the software without really havingknowledge of the syntax and semantics of the underlying DBMS. The GUI is user friendly.
The concept of warehouse has been implemented as well so that all the registered databasescan be queried simultaneously. The DBCS is designed for providing maximum help to peoplerequired to access data frequently stored in DBMS of different vendors.
