Automation of NUST Examination System For Medical Sciences

Abstract

This is information age that can run only by information systems. Information has won the status of most precious asset of any modern organization. Respectively availability of a specific piece of information is first and foremost consideration of every organization to exist in cutthroat competition. NUST examination cell for Medical sciences is one such organization that has huge information. Currently all of the information is handled through spreadsheets., which is insecure. To afford efficient handling, processing & maintenance of huge data NUST needed an automated information system. Besides this a user-friendly front-end was required as complementary requirement. I have developed the required system using Microsoft SQL Server and Active Server Pages (ASP). The system complies with all the requirements. This project can be a foundation stone for automation of other disciplines and can be extended to an online Examination system in future. For comprehensive implementation, browsing and data manipulation the users can select from a variety of options available to them on the forms. Further the users can run the application using any browser that supports ASP technologies.
