Abstract:
In this study reviewed the current Pakistan’s cyber threats landscape by focusing on the global rankings and among them standing of Pakistan as a developing country. Emerging threats, risks and behavioral and technical malpractices of the young adolescents. Analyzed the current practices and already taken measures by government for adolescents education regarding cyber literacy and awareness. Also critically analyzing domestic cyber laws and regulations regarding child online protection, compliance requirements to highlight loopholes compared to the countries higher in rank as per Global Cyber Security Index. Conducted surveys among adolescents of age 12-20 (consists of school, college and university students) years to estimate the awareness level at present and the measures taken for the capacity building of young kids at Pakistan’s level. Conducted risk assessment following to the activities by young people and their exposure level. Drew a comparison between the programs launched and offered by different countries for kids to get aware and learn to safeguard themselves. Proposed a framework for cyber security awareness for young adolescents. Built a program for cyber security awareness which would comprise of literature campaigns and activities to make Pakistan’s young force aware of the hazards and train them to think and behave in a way to keep them safe secure and their information private. Made an online portal to provide an easy access to the material, activities, news and campaigns regarding cyber security awareness for Pakistani adolescents and all the elders who are lined with the adolescents and making it a cyberspace safe usage awareness hub.
