Abstract:
With the world rapidly moving towards the development of intangible user interfaces, our “Interactive Walk-thru Projection” is a step ahead.
Dry fog laminated between pressurized air curtains from the front and rear gives an excellent projection screen just immaterial and the depth map from an infrared camera allows adding interactivity to this midair projection. The existing technologies like LED/LCD and the normal solid projection screen take up a lot of space and have the provision of interactivity over the screen only. This screen however is your very own intangible touch screen which is undoubtedly less space inhibiting and more innovative taking us one step closer to reality. The interactivity module adds to the value of this product as compared to the previous ones since the users can now be a part of the experience themselves.
This interface is an attractive commodity to increase dwell time, remembrance, understanding and appreciation of key concepts in addition to creating unforgettable sensory experiences by the walk thru ability. Also it creates a high-impact advertising platform without inhibiting floor space. All these factors make them an excellent commodity for entrances, immaterial space dividers, near holographic displays, combat training and effective learning tool.
By the end of the FYP’s tenure we should be able to deliver a product in accordance with the description provided above.
