dc.description.abstract Our final year project is basically a trolley bag used as a portable battery charger which utilizes waste kinetic energy and converts it to useful electrical energy. The rotation of the tires of the trolley bag rotates the rotor of the generator through a calibrated gearing assembly. The rotor produces necessary electrical current to feed the charging circuits. The first charging circuit is used to charge two sealed lead-acid 12V batteries connected in series. The voltage at the input of both charging circuits is 18V. The second charging circuit is used to charge the lithium-ion battery while using SLA (Sealed lead acid (3.2Ah)) battery as a power source. The input voltage to the charging circuit of SLA battery is 18V and the input to the lithium-ion battery charger is 24V. Our generator provides a current of 1.2A approx. to charge the batteries which mean the SLA battery will be charged to 90% in almost 90 minutes and lithium-ion battery in almost 100 minutes. The application of our device is laptop and mobile chargers. The primary customers of our product are those people who travel a lot. en_US
