dc.description.abstract Multiagent systems (MAS) have gained importance in recent years due to the numerous advantages they provide for the field of distributed computing. Agents in MAS have specific collective goals to accomplish. In order to achieve these goals agents need to have a meaningful communication. This can be achieved through the use of common shared vocabulary. A more formal term used for this vocabulary is ‘Ontology’. While using ontologies, there are different problems that can be encountered. For example, if an agent from one domain having an ontology wants to communicate with an agent in another domain having a different ontology the problem of interoperability arises. Our paper focuses on the problem of interoperability among different ontologies. Key words: ontology, Knowledge Base, Multi Agent system, First Order Logic, ontology merging, ontology mapping, ontology integration. en_US
