dc.description.abstract Maxwell formulated four of the most basic equations of electromagnetic theory in 1870s, which engineers and scientists use worldwide. Computers ranging from desktop PCs to high performance computers work to obtain the solutions to these equations. Now in the 21st century the question arises that “why the field of electromagnetic is relevant to modern society?” Propagation and radiation of electromagnetic waves is observed in different media using Finite Difference Time Domain Method. Radiation of a dipole antenna in a chiral medium is investigated theoretically and numerically. A simple Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) scheme is proposed for modeling the dipole field in free space. The proposed scheme is then extended for the case when the dipole is placed in an infinite dielectric medium. The behavior of the field radiated by the dipole is observed for different values of constitutive parameters. en_US
