Abstract:
Signaling system number 7 is the global standard for telecommunication defined by ITUT that consists of the procedures and protocols by which the PSTN exchange information over a digital network to do the wireless (cellular) and wire line call setup, routing and control.
Our implementation consists of the top layers of the protocol stack, SCCP and TCAP. SCCP provides connectionless network services above MTP-3 layer as well as global title translation (GTT) services. TCAP enables the deployment of advanced intelligent network services by supporting non-circuit related information exchange between signaling points using the SCCP connectionless service.
The implementation includes; working encoder and decoder for different types of messages of SCCP and TCAP, GTT (Global Title Translation) at SCCP, integrated visualization of the SCCP, TCAP and MTP layers (which were previously implemented by senior batches) and different practical scenarios explaining the application and working of the layers (on signaling nodes) in wireless communication environment.
