Abstract:
In wireless communications microwaves plays a vital role. It is mostly used as medium or channel for communication. In our project the plan to design the tunable filter which is a kind of band-pass filter over the desired frequency ranges from 200MHz to 2500MHz. We have to detect voltage or current of that desired range of frequencies.
Digital filters are employed in numerous signal processing applications ranging from satellite communication systems to radar systems. Microwave filters are commonly used in telecommunication applications to transmit and/or receive energy in desired band of frequencies and reject energy at unwanted frequencies that are outside of the desired band.
Wireless communication is becoming as an essential part in the field of RF and Microwave domain. Due to increasing challenges, industries want to design such products which can monitor the required band of frequencies. Single filter and multi band filters are used but to design a tunable filter reduces the size and the power issues. Some undesired frequencies are also captured by antenna at the receiver end, which can be filtered by using tunable RF filter easily.
There are different technologies which can be used for filtering the radio frequencies. We can use lump circuit approach by using oscillators, resonators and capacitors. However for tuneable filters we may have to use varactor diodes and tuneable inductors. This approach is useful for gaining frequent tune-ability. Secondly we can use micro-strip technology for high accuracy but tune-ability is challenging in this approach. The outcome is expected a tuneable filter using lumped components, tuneable varactor diodes in the frequency range of 200MHz to 2500MHz.
