Abstract:
Since the use of android phones has increased in the past few years and likewise the
mobile theft incidents have increased too. And as it's portable and it's losable, so it's a
good idea to think ahead and plan for locating your android device if you misplace it
someday or it gets stolen. Spydroid is an android based application capable of
controlling, monitoring and manipulatingmobile services from a remote device. There are
few good applications already present in the market which provide one with different
functionalities. Our aim is to re-implement these applications, combining the mobile
tracking part of these applications and the remote handling of our phones (via remote
device) into one application. The software shall be used for any kind of detection purpose
by detective organizations, mobile recovery, personal ease (remote controls etc.). The
software required for the implementation of our project include; Java Development Kit
1.6 which is a pre-requisite for android platform, Eclipse IDE for Java and Android-SDK
version 2.2 of Level 8 API. The hardware required for the implementation of our project
include; Mobile Phone with Android OS 2.2 or above and a Computer/Laptop/mobile.
Using Wide Area Network (WAN), Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM)
and 3G (third-generation mobile phone technology standards) services, the application
shall have following features:
a. Auto SMS on insertion of new SIM.
b. Inquiring GPS location.
c. Changing volume level remotely.
d. Ringing phone remotely
e. Switching on/off WLAN and Bluetooth remotely.
f. Lock mobile remotely.
g. Viewing recent call history remotely
