With the advent of the concept of globalization, companies are becoming more and more geographically separated. While the Web promised to make large organizations more manageable, we find that this has not happened. Due to increasingly complex projects and larger project teams, managing teams, projects and deadlines is still a relatively complicated task.
Every day, the citizens of the Internet send each other billions of e-mail messages. Obviously, e-mail has become an extremely popular communication tool. Besides personal communication, email is also becoming a common project management and coordination tool. Tasks are commonly assigned by sending emails to the relevant person, and reminders are almost always sent by email.
The purpose of this project is to build a highly interactive Email Client for Collaboration between persons working in a big organization. The project aims to create an email client which improves project coordination and helps team members to remember deadlines and have more visibility into the project management. At the same time, it also tries to make email more manageable by sorting emails by “importance” based on the relationship between the user and the email sender.
The target customer for this project is any small to medium level organization which needs collaboration among its teams working together on a project or task. So the main objective of this project is to provide a Web 2.0 based solution for collaboration within all kinds of hierarchical organizations. |
