dc.description.abstract Series Hybrid vehicles are now a days common in most of the developed countries. The major idea behind using the Hybrid vehicles and not the conventional internal combustion engine vehicles is that we have very less efficiency in these cars. On the other hand, the electric vehicles that were used only electric drive systems had better efficiency but the distance they could cover was small. Therefore a Hybrid vehicle was introduced so that we could gain the benefits of both electric and ICE vehicles. The project aims at design and implementation of series Hybrid Vehicle. This project involves extensive modeling and simulation of series hybrid vehicle parts like Battery Packs, chargers, on-board generator, vehicle dynamics, motors and other drive line components in various software tools. A complete model of series Hybrid Vehicle has also been made and tested on MATLAB Simulink® and the circuits used in this project were simulated in Proteus/Spice®. The project is divided into three major parts including Vehicle Control Unit, Variable Frequency Drives and Battery charging and management unit. By the end of this project we shall be able to deliver a mock type prototype of Series Hybrid Vehicle. en_US
