Abstract:
Creating an image with the help of two images, with seamless boundaries is called seamless
image cloning.Image cloning is very useful task for computer graphics and image editing,
which requires, producing an image by patching the source image or part of source image
on target image, with seamless boundaries.Various techniques have been proposed for
seamless image cloning which produce unrealistic results due to the variation in texture
of source and target images. Results produced by previous techniques are not accurate.
Boundary pixel of source image are not adjusted properly according to the target image.
Thus purpose of seamless image cloning process is not fulfilled properly. Need of improvement
in seamless image cloning technique is increased due to rapid development in image
processing field and its practical implication in various fields.
In this thesis an improved seamless image cloning technique has been proposed. This
scheme utilizes the concept of Rolling Guidance Filter and Image smoothing via Lo Gradient
filter. The source image is used to extract the part of image to be cloned on the target
image. In order to make cloning process seamless Rolling Guidance filter is applied which
improves the quality of the output image. Texture smoothing can help reduce noise from
the target image. This noise of the image is result of cloning process. L0 Gradient filtered
target image to make the cloned seamless image. Visual Comparison with previous techniques
proves, that the proposed scheme improves the quality of the image and makes the
proposed image cloning technique more seamless as compared to previous techniques. The
cloned images are obtained with comparatively better accuracy.
