In today’s world a lot of attention is being channelled towards the betterment of mentally disordered people and it is made sure that the problems they face are brought to the forefront. Dementia is the type of mental disorder which is spreading rapidly and a lot of people throughout the world are being affected by it every year. Through technological means these patients can be facilitated. Dementia is a type of cognitive disorder which is caused due to damage to the brain, in turn affecting the learning, memory, perception and problem solving abilities. All these problems create difficulty for the people to perform even routine tasks, thus withdrawing them from the world. Dementia can be treated by mental exercises and these exercises can be introduced in the form of a software. The software development inhibits data collection process for design specification. This thesis work attempts to bring awareness about Dementia in Pakistan and establishing framework for Requirement Engineering. This framework will help in developing a customized application specially designed for people of Pakistan. This research work will propose a methodology for requirement gathering form Dementia patients. The requirement gathering is based and backed by the case study of Brainyapp in order to define a more suitable methodology for Pakistani patients. In this thesis Brain Heath application has been developed through which the patients will exercise their mind and can keep track of their brain health. As mostly affected by this disease are old people so a more simplified and attractive interface is developed through requirement gathering. This research will incorporate human computer interaction through user interface in the best possible way producing most effective results keeping in mind the Dementia patients in Pakistan. |
