State of Supply Chain Management in Construction Industry of Pakistan: Developing an Online Information Pool of Local Suppliers

Abstract

In order to properly inquire about the current supply chain practices in Pakistan’s construction industry, we aim to conduct a study of construction materials from the point of their production to the end user. The idea of developing an information pool of local material suppliers has also been forwarded where complete business details will be available and clients can there then contact the vendor to inquire about trade transactions. There has been very limited work done in the supply chain sector of Pakistan, and up till now, no applicable website exist which shrinks the procurement gap between the suppliers and the clients. The study will be principally conducted through suppliers centered surveys and interviews, and the extracted data will then serve as a major component in the comparison of practices and the development of the website itself.
