dc.description.abstract The automated speed measurement device is a handheld device which is used to calculate the speed of car through the use of electromagnetic (em) waves. Speed calculation is done using Doppler Effect phenomenon. The device consists of a microwave section and display section. Microwave section transmits em waves of 2.6 GHz frequency and after striking the car these waves are received through resonant cavity. Then both the transmitted and received frequencies are mixed through a mixer and we get a difference frequency which is then amplified and sent to the display section. Display section amplifies the received signal. After amplifying the analog signal it is converted into a digital signal which is given to the microcontroller. The microcontroller then displays the speed on lcd. en_US
