This report deals with the development and implementation of Course Management Remote Assistant (COMRA) to aid the manual/traditional course conducing activities through a single, database driven web application. The system incorporates three basic workspaces those are teacher workspace, student workspace and administrator workspace. As far as administrator workspace is concerned it’s further subdivided into training manager workspace responsible for system deployment, course coordinator workspace deals with course and class activities and system administrator handling student accounts request to access system. COMRA has features like system deployment, user management, results tracking/management, resource management, events management, assignment management, news management, to-do’s management and messaging service.
This system differs from other similar products available in the market as it is aiding the traditional course conducting activities not carrying on distance learning. System is no doubt very flexible and reliable. This portal has a three-tier authorization system. It groups the three user segments into Instructor, administrator and Student. Depending upon the login username and password, the system recognizes the level/group of the user and thus releases the services. The purpose of the system is to present a viable alternative to traditional course conducting by developing a system that can be used most effectively to leverage the administrator, instructor’s and student’s time and energy so that they can spend time doing things that add value to the learning process. |
