dc.description.abstract The main domain of this project is Tele HealthCare. This system makes it possible for Doctors to monitor and control vital signs of their patients (e.g. at home) from anywhere via Internet. Use of Zigbee makes it possible to free patients from their equipment, allowing them greater freedom of movement. This application proves to be useful in cases of emergency, is cost-effective and is likely to stem firm the potential increase in patient compliance rates and thus increase in the success of medication. There are four modules in this system: 1. Patient’s Module: This module is a wearable device that contains a temperature sensor and a Zigbee Transmitter. Zigbee is used for short range communication between Patient’s Module and Patient’s PC Module. 2. Patient’s PC Module: This module contains a PC application and Zigbee Receiver. Readings taken at defined intervals from patient’s module is collected by this application and is then automatically stored in a central database on the server. If sensor reading exceeds threshold value specified by Doctor, warning message will be displayed to Patient and Doctor. 3. Server Module: This Module is a Windows server on which web services are hosted. All of patient and doctor information is stored in SQL Server Database. Web services are used to access, update and modify the information. 4. Doctor’s PC Module: This can be any portable or non-portable device that has Internet access. Doctor can access patient information through a web application. en_US
