Development of Design Software for Multi Story Frame Structure

Abstract

Softwares available in the market are mostly paid and one needs to be proficientenough to use these softwares. Training videos are available on the web but they require dedicated time to learn and practice. A beginner gets bored and loses interest in these software. The idea of developing MFS Basic revolves around the above stated context. MFS Basic provides a friendly user interface and the required proficiency level is beginner. It provides the user with an easy solution to the problems that helps in developing interest both in the subject and the software. The software covers analysis and design of basic framed structure elements i.e. Beams, Columns, Footings, Gravity retaining wall and Cantilever retaining wall system.The software is based on latest ACI Code 318-14 and has provisions provided as a reference at the clinch of a hand. MFS Basic will be an inspiration for the students which will help and motivate them towards their learning and final year project.
