dc.description.abstract Due to Rapid increase in the population and new trend of moving from rural to urban has caused the construction to dramatic increase. These constructions include residential buildings, industrial projects and public buildings. They require huge amount of capital and resources. Oneiof the most important building material is Concrete. One of the main component used in the manufacture of concrete is cement. According to [1], globally, construction industry winds up utilizing roughly 1.6 billion tons of cement, and almost 10ibillion tons fine and coarse aggregatesievery year. Due to largeiscale usage of these materials there is increase in top-soil loss deforestation. Due to rapid increase in the construction projects globally, it’s very difficult to provide raw materials for these rapidly increasing construction projects on such a huge scale. Because it creates environmental related issues and puts pressure on natural resources. During the process of urbanisation, old buildings were replaced by the new structures. So there is an issue regarding recycling/waste of old building material and provision of new building material. This waste is generally known as ‘construction and demolition waste’ (CDW). CDWiis one ofithe heaviestiand mostivoluminous waste streams produced in theiEU. It is around 25%i-i30% of all waste created in the EU and comprises of various materials, including wood, metals, bricks, iisolvents, gypsum, concrete, iasbestos, plastic, glass and excavated soil, a considerable lot of which can be reusedi en_US
