Evaluating and Developing Financial Accounting Web Application

Abstract

This report revolves around a real time business problem being faced by Friends Enterprises. It is a construction company that deals with government, semi government and private projects. The company was facing a problem with its accounting software. The former software was outdated and used different software for carrying out multiple accounting processes. It was time consuming, costly and failed to comply with financial reporting standards. We accepted the challenge of integrating all the accounting processes and procedure in single accounting system. The software implementation does not include technology only but change in organization and management dimension also taken into consideration. The report provides insights about project management, accounting system requirements, assistance of accounts in development of accounting system and implementation strategies. We were interested in training organizational employees regarding new accounting system and providing support to organization in change transformation but it was not included in the project scope due to time limitations.
