Kisaan Madad: A User friendly Application for farmers

Abstract

There are no technological advancements in agricultural sector of Pakistan which is contributing about 25% of GDP of Pakistan. About 61% of our population lives in rural areas where they face many issues including very low illiteracy rate. There are unable to benefit from different agricultural applications due to barrier of illiteracy. They are unable to know about latest agricultural products prices of different companies and about recent new and easy treatments of different crop diseases. Kisaan Madad is an application built on the principles of Human Computer Interaction, Urdu Text Based Interface with assistance of Urdu Voice Cues and web crawling to fetch data on run time from the internet and help the farmers in getting up to date knowledge about the prices of fertilizers, pesticides and machinery of different agricultural companies. It will help them to know about treatment of different crop diseases. Kisaan Madad is our attempt to make a user-friendly application for farmers of Pakistan with aim of technological improvement in Agricultural Sector which helps farmers to get different product at cheap prices.
