dc.description.abstract This report represents a senior project report and implementation as a prerequisite for completing the final year project for the degree of Bachelors of Engineering in Software Engineering from School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at NUST, Islamabad. For automobiles drivers who face traffic congestion or possible accidents in fog and low-light situations, the Virtual Vision during Fog is a desktop application that allows them to see in fog or dark, displaying the results on a screen placed on dashboard of the car. Fog creates numerous challenges for everyone as it stops people from going out and doing their day to day tasks or routines. It leads to roads being closed, mostly highways, which stops people from travelling to their destinations. Travelling and transportation agencies can’t function with the closure of highways which leads to a loss of a lot of money. So different type of people are being affected by fog and there isn’t any solution on how to tackle the problem. Unlike fog detection systems that merely detect fog and don’t provide vision, our product will be able to display the 3D environment of the front of the car with the help of a Lidar-Lite 3 sensor to obtain depth data from the surroundings, and based on the results of the sensors, we will model a 3D version of the environment. The resulting 3D environment will be displayed on laptop’s screen clamped on driver’s dashboard. This will enable vision in low-light/foggy environment that would aid safe driving. The report discusses the entire process the team went through for project development. It is delivered with the inclusion of a feasibility study, system plan management process (SPMP), information gathering process, system requirement specifications (SRS), system design specifications (SDS) and system testing specifications (STS). en_US
