dc.description.abstract Gracy Lines Officers Residential Complex is basically a part of the initiative taken by army to provide residence for the Officers currently serving in Rawalpindi. Due to shortage of residence for Officers in Rawalpindi, the army took an initiative to construct more high-rise apartments and flats instead of houses in order to accommodate more officers in a smaller area.Gracy lines is basically situated in Rawalpindi in the Chaklala area with Benazir Bhutto International Airport and Chaklala Railway Station situated within one-mile radius. It is situated on the Airport road which connects two major roads of the twin cities i.e. GT Road and the Islamabad Highway. The building being constructed is basically 8 storyapartments. There is also a basement which is used as stores. Each storyconsists of basically 4 houses so there is a total of 32 houses in one building. This project generally deals with the settlement analysis of the building on the basis of the soil strata present underneath the building. This tells us not only about the immediate settlement but also the consolidation settlement and time rate. On the basis of these settlements, we propose recommendations to encounter the problems and make sure that safety of the building is ensured while economizing the whole project. en_US
