Beams over the supports are made continuous to the increase integrity of structure.
In the case of failure at a section the continuous beam provides an alternate load
path. In regions with high risk of seismic activity, continuous beams and frames are
always top priority in buildings and bridges. The aim of the project is to compare the
analysis on continuous beam (Interior and Exterior) carried out with ETABS on the
concept (Pattern Loading, Moment Redistribution and Correction at the face of
supports) with the ACI Moment Coefficient Method processed in MS Excel. Results
of both methods have been compared. By the results of analysis of both Methods it
is observed that results of Positive Moments are comparable & results of Negative
Moments are greater in ETABS than ACI Mo |
