dc.description.abstract A Road Safety Audit (RSA) is carried out by an independent and multidisciplinary team to examine and analyze the safety performance of an existing or future road or intersection. The potential road safety hazards are quantified and suitable mitigation measures are suggested by keeping a balance between safety and economy to ensure the safety of road users. Aim is to identify road elements which can be a safety issue for the users under what conditions and to which extant, and what appropriate practical measures can be taken to eliminate the hazard. RSAs thus provide a proactive and low- cost approach to improve safety. en_US
