dc.description.abstract Due to a rapid increase in the construction industry in past few decades especially in concrete constructions, demand of construction materials have increased manifold. Cement, the most important part of concrete mostly determines the cost of large project, as it is the most costly and essential material used in concrete. Its manufacturing process contributes significantly to greenhouse gases and also accounts for almost 7 percent of world carbon dioxide co2 gas production. Use of complementary cementitious materials in concrete is in practice all over the world, such as fly ash, ground granulated blast furnace slag, rice husk ash and many other mineral admixtures. But the most interesting is the replacement of cement with baggase ash produced from combustion of sugarcane baggase. Baggase is obtained as a fibrous residue after crushing and juice extraction in sugar factories and is reused as fuel in boilers in the same industry for electricity generation. The resulting ash known as SCBA ( usually bottom ash and in a smaller proportion fly ash) is a valuable material for cement and concrete production due to presence of high amount of silica and aluminium oxides. The successful utilization of baggase ash in concrete would not only lower the cost of construction but also substantially contribute to reduce green house gases. Along with bagasse ash replacement with cement, another material known as Quarry dust or stone dust which is usually en_US
