Internet of Things (IoT) was proposed by Kevin Ashton, co-founder of AutoID. Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the major technological developments in recent years. According to recent research, it is expected that there will be more than 24 million IoT devices in the world by 2020. That's approximately four devices for every human being on the planet. One IoT device connects to another to transmit information using Internet transfer protocols. IoT platforms serve as the bridge between the device’s sensors and the data networks but proving security is a torment for IoT. Therefore, hackers can get the data and information quite easily. So, our main task is to ensure secure data transmission. Our solution adds a layer of strong security on all IoT data feeds originating within the home. The user need not invest in extra hardware or specialized devices. All this is required in our scheme is a software patch for the home router and a basic browser extension. We prototype and demonstrate our solution using IP cameras. |
