dc.description.abstract Pakistan is a developing country facing multiple challenges one of these challenges is around the access to energy for the nation’s population. The access to energy should be a fundamental right of every individual in the society as this has far reaching consequences on the economy and security of any nation. Pakistan currently has over 40,000 villages which do not have access to electricity due to this reason it is important to understand the reason and then suggest the best solution for this. The research here focuses exactly on these main points on how solar energy potential of Pakistan could be the harbinger to change on the economic front for Pakistan. The research compares the status quo energy processes against the solar energy potential for Pakistan. The research is a three-way comparison around standalone PV systems, Grid extension using net metering and islanded grid tied system. en_US
