Vitealth is an easy-to-use device which automates the daily hassle of insulin dose calculation for
diabetic patients by measuring their Blood Glucose non-invasively with a combination of their
food intake and activity levels, preventing frequent hospital visits and wrong dosage.
The current market products and techniques regarding the detection of glucose levels and
recommending insulin intake are described as follows.
All FDA approved devices use finger pricking method to detect blood sugar . It is not effective
for repeated use because
• It causes pain
• Prevents blood clotting
• It's expensive
There are currently NO automated insulin calculators which can be paired with BGL detection
hardware. The following methods are followed for insulin calculation:
• Consulting a doctor
• Manually entering frequent BGL data into a calculation formula
