Abstract:
The following is the project report for the Digital Signal System Processing project titled DeltaVision – HappyTV. The problem we are assessing is the need of multi screening in today’s world. It is the dispute of two persons sitting together wanting to watch two different channels and at the same time they desire to interact with each other.
The problem is significant because it may cause quarrels which end up destroying the atmosphere of house. Suppose you are sitting on a Sunday evening wanting to watch a football match and some other family member of yours wish to watch news. The prime objective of our project is to ensure that a family can sit together and enjoy each other’s company and at the same time can watch whatever that want. The aim of this project is to develop a system that enable the normal TV screens to display two different channels on a single screen without any interference. We are using active 3D glasses to view single channels on a screen that is interlaced video of two different channels.
To overcome these problems and provide an innovative solution, the proposed system enables any LCD TV to stream multiple programs simultaneously at full resolution using time multiplexing, corresponding synchronized active-shutter glasses and earphones to output multiple audio streams. Hence viewers can watch and listen to two different channels on the same screen without compromising on the video quality while allowing interaction among family members siting side-by-side via separate wireless headsets. Hardware architecture that we used is Atyls Sparten 6 that takes two 2D feeds as an input and an interlaced video is displayed on LCD. The flickering rate of Active Shutter Glasses are synchronized with the video shown on the screen in such a way that frames of one video is visible for user 1 and that of second video is visible to user 2 only. We are designing our system in Embedded Development Kit environment that is set of software environment made by Xilinx and come with ISE design suit. There is RF Transmitter Receiver circuit with FPGA kit to synchronize glasses with video frames and a Bluetooth Transmitter Receiver circuit for audio feeds.
