Abstract:
To have clean, efficient and cheap energy provision to the general commodity is one of the many socioeconomically challenges of present time. Energy sustainability plays central role while considering efficient energy provision. Sustainable energy is present in various forms such biogas, solar energy, wind energy and like of geo thermal energy. Advancement of technologies are helping individuals to participate in electrical system by having personal generation system. Independence from relaying on other entities and to enjoy individual space has played huge role in having private systems. Having personal generation units has changed the electrical system and also opened a way to utilize energy considering the consumers. In attempt to harness this, the current electrical infrastructure needs to be redesigned into integrated intelligent system. One of the main focus area for achieving this is to change from regulated to restructured market structure. Restructured market system known as “Transactive Energy System” allow the consumer to participate in the market by selling the energy he has available to offer to the electrical system. To observe the transactive energy approach benefit over conventional energy system, IEEE 69 system is implemented with load growth having prosumers participating in the electrical market in transactive energy system. Different percentage of prosumer participating in electrical market are observed to evaluate the benefit of transactive energy approach over conventional energy system. Voltage profile, cost of scheduling and consumer per kWh purchase and sales is compared to determine the benefit of transactive over conventional energy distribution system. Python language has been used for building optimization algorithm for scheduling and IEEE 69 system has been developed in Opendss. The algorithm developed in python will minimize the cost, maximize the energy efficiency, increase renewable energy mix and reduce consumers cost of energy purchase.
