Abstract:
Online Paperless Mailing System is a web based application which helps users initiate any type of internal correspondence like ION, Minute Sheet etc. These mails are exchanged between different departments at NIIT. Users are provided with an online interface to initiate a mail. This web-based application will make the staff and students at NIIT, initiate any type of mail like Inter Office Note (ION), Minutes sheet, applications by students, minutes of the meeting. It helps sending mails to recipients. User can track the message also. Search feature is also provided to search a particular mail. Word templates will be available to initiate the mails. Automation of this system through a central database will minimize the delays, track replies and help actions to be taken on different requests. This system relies on database. On the front end, Visual Basic web application will be used to provide the user with the interface to transact with the database for initiating, retrieving and tracking messages. The application solves the problems in manual system by keeping database records of all the correspondences and status of the mails. The system is designed by studying dataflow and making ER model based on existing system to meet the requirements of the proposed system.
