dc.description.abstract In this thesis, the propagation of plane waves in rotating elastic solids with and without voids are discussed. In each case, various graphs are plotted for illustration purposes and solution analysis. The case of propagation of plane waves for anisotropic material with voids is a new problem and discussed in detailed. Plane wave solutions are obtained by solving the equation of motion. Graphs are plotted for dimensionless wave speeds and wave number, wave speed and rotation, imaginary part of the solution is plotted separately. A special case where k ! 1 is considered. en_US
