Abstract:
Health has always been a concerned factor of human life. Famous quote "Health is Wealth" tells importance of it. Due to missing medical appointments huge losses are caused in the health system. In this thesis we work on this issue with the help of machine learning. Collection of large amount of data to analyze, filtering and transforming that data in analyzable form is first critical task for analysis that is handled in this thesis. Then classifying data into two category Show Up and No-Show Up with equal number of examples for analysis is another important task which is taken care in this research using different techniques. Then selection of algorithms and analysis of data using these algorithms, is done and thoroughly explained in this thesis. Finding best outcome using these algorithm is also crucial part of research. For this purpose, different variations of algorithm parameters are applied on all chosen algorithm and discussed in this thesis. After applying algorithms on differently balanced data, results are analyzed with 6 different evaluation metrics. Results achieved in this thesis are better than all presented in previous literature. This research shows better combination of patient attributes helps in predicting their appointment status in future. So this research is helpful for health care providers and insurance companies to set policies that enhance resource utilization and reduce resource wastage.
