dc.description.abstract Silica coated magnetite np’s functionalized with Succinamic acid for the first time were prepared and investigated for extraction of Pb(II) and As(III).Prepared nano sorbent was termed as SAS3M .XRD, SEM, BET, Zeta Potential, VSM and FTIR spectroscopy techniques were used to analyze different aspects of sorbent. XRD and SEM analysis confirmed the successful coatings, crystallinity, crystallite size and morphology of sorbent. VSM justified our sorbent to be highly magnetic enough to be separated by applying magnetic field. Zeta potential confirmed the negative surface charge of sorbent, successful Succinamic acid functionalization. BET was done to understand the sorption behavior. SAS3M were applied for the extract studies of Pb(II) and As(III) by batch adsorption method. Extraction was investigated using various amounts of sorbent, different concentrations of corresponding metal, with different contact time and specific pH values to get the best set of parameters of metal extraction studies. en_US
