dc.description.abstract The behaviour of ordinary mode has been studied in non-relativistic and relativistic plasma domains by using the kappa distribution function. By using the kinetic model approach, dispersion relation of ordinary mode is derived. To observe the effects of density and kappa index variation on the cut-off and propagation of ordinary mode, graphs of ω versus k has been plotted. It is observed that in non-relativistic regime, by increasing the value of density, cut-offs shift toward higher frequencies and by increasing the value of κ index wave propagate at lower frequencies in plasma. It is also observed that cyclotron harmonics for n = 1, 2, 3 shift towards lower frequencies by increasing either the value of index κ or density. en_US
