dc.description.abstract In the construction industry of Pakistan especially in Construction Plant and Equipment Management the use of modern-day technologies is almost negligible. Due to the employment of conventional methods, maximum productivity of the projects cannot be achieved because of unwanted delays and increase in estimated costs which in turn can lower the quality as well. The only way in which the construction industry of Pakistan can flourish is by utilizing the technologies which are already in use in the foreign nations. This study aims to focus on the use of GPS technology specifically which is cost-effective and readily available, but still not being used to its full potential. The idea is to indicate how GPS technology can be used in the construction industry and the benefits which we can get by utilizing it in a proper professional way. The study also develops an IoT based GPS tracking device using Blynk platform which can be used on movable equipment such as transit mixers, excavators, dumpers as well as static items such as generators and cranes. This would not only increase the overall productivity of a project but also allow the owners/engineers to keep a check whether the equipment is being used correctly or not. en_US
