Abstract:
Instability, inconsistent load and generation on the supply and demand sides, a lack of
robust inter and intra-microgrid communication, and the monopoly of generators in the
energy market are all challenges faced by deploying a multi-microgrid setup. This paper
develops an intelligent multi-agent system with a multi-layer framework for multimicrogrid
(MMG) utilizing robust and modern communication patterns for deployed agents to achieve distributed tasks. The MMG paradigm introduces three micro-grids (MGs) based on the type of load, working environment, and living habitat; Residential, Commercial and Industrial. Day-ahead and Real-time model is proposed for day-ahead and real-time signals. Intelligent agents in the multi-layer MAS framework make smart decisions based on MMGWO, MMPPnP and knapsack to optimize schedule power and minimize cost, considering DD and DR as key components. Additionally, maximum utilization of renewable energy sources, increased user-comfort, and minimum GHG’s emissions are achieved consequently. Furthermore, load agents deployed in each MG ensures maximum efficiency. By recommending various tariff rates and tariff adjustment strategies to promote investment in the suggested MAS framework for MMG paradigm, the proposed work offers an economic evaluation of established framework to pave a path for investors or IPPs. To minimize the monopoly in energy market, an efficient energy market model is developed for the proposed MMG paradigm to maximize the competition by incorporating future and spot market trading schemes for day-ahead and real-time signal.
