dc.description.abstract This study aims to find out the competitiveness level in the automobile sector of Pakistan and its impact on the industry. A well-ordered questionnaire will be distributed among the company representatives and questionnaire will be based upon five (5) Point like-category scale. In the analysis of the competiveness in this automobile sector we used ten different indicators from customer satisfaction to the cost effectiveness. Each indicator carries a weight of 10 (ten) points and they all equal to 100 Hundred. The performance of every indicator will be judged on a scale (1-10) poor – best. The competiveness index will be established from the results of the questionnaire through which the analysis of the competiveness and how it affects the functioning of the automobile sector will be defined. the competiveness index is designed to calculate the values of each indicator as the firms perform across each and every one of them. Three vehicle segments is used in this study i.etwo wheelers , four wheelers and six wheelers. Each indicator of one firm perform different than the other firm in same vehicle segment which shows the competiveness in the in the firms. This study shows how the automobile industry of Pakistan is protected from outside but how much competitive it is from the inside through the analysis of these indicators across different vehicle segments. Moreover, this paper shows the industry average of each vehicle segment and individual average of the firm which display the underperforming and best performing firms. en_US
