Cholistan has long been renowned for its rich culture, history, and music. This documentary is
particular about their folk music that contains the melodies of the Marwaris. The term Marwari
is believed to be derived from the phrase Maruwat in Sanskrit, meaning "Desert." This
documentary will be presenting their Marwari folk music through an eminent musician named
Laalo Laal Bheel Singh. Who is the leader of the tribe, and different talented musicians perform
under his leadership with the same genre. The film attracts mainly three subjects:
• Laalo Laal Bheel Singh
• Jhumer tribe
• Nar Singh Bhagat
The documentary's focus will be on the leader of the tribe Laalo Laal Bheel Singh, and the two
other musicians who are performing under his direction; their culture and their struggles will
also be shown. The stories have been taken out with interviews and observing their lives by
living with all three subjects. The contribution to folk music comes from almost every sector
of the Grand Estate due to Marwari's wealth. The most famous of these are the Jogis of Mewasi,
Mangniar and Langas, Kanjar, Banjaras, and Morsi and Dholis. Performances such as
Kochhmani Khayal, Machh, Tamasha, Ramat, Nautanki, and Risali are equally respected. It
was a pleasure to hear a young Marwari folk musician, about five or six years old, who is
sometimes seen performing on stage with a band. There are very few musicians who will pass
the family process in the future |
