The frequency of infectious diseases was very low before 1900s. With the advancement of
technology and increasing population, the evolution of diseases has also increased the pace and
the frequency has also increased. Covid-19 is one of these viral diseases. It is stated in a lot of
researches that the indirect impact of a highly transmissible disease is multiple times of their
direct impact (Smith, Machalaba et al. 2019). As an evolved viral disease, Covid-19 is highly
transmissible and contains high socio-economic effects which are difficult to understand without
quantification. The effects of Covid-19 are known to us on the basis of simulation but not on
factual data (Correia, Luck et al. 2020). The effect of Covid-19 on food security and economy is
the highest with respect to previous pandemics (Stoop, Desbureaux et al. 2021). This type of
pandemic can result in down trend of overall economy as with time, the household sustainability
and living standard drops. Health is a major part of sustainability. Islamabad is the capital of
Pakistan and is highly affected by Covid-19. Quantification and identification of the factors of
socio-economic impact is necessary so that trends and strategies to control the indirect impacts of
Covid-19 can be obtained. It will also include living pattern before and after Covid-19 of people
who live in planned areas in comparison to people who live in unplanned areas. A detailed
demographic trend analysis of effects of Covid-19 is also needed to understand the situation
better. |
