dc.description.abstract Women victims of violence are among the most vulnerable members of our societies. In Pakistan, the oppressed and deprived women can take shelter from their homes or any segment of society by residing in Dar-ul-Aman. But protection is not an only desirable option for their happy and prosperous future. For that purpose, the institute also have a responsibility to provide services and facilities to these women. The present study focused on the personal and environmental factors that led a women to live at the shelter homes named as Dar-ul Aman to get an understanding of the factors either present or circumstantial that improved the quality of their lives and can help to ensure a better future. To get an overview from the women living in Dar-ul-Aman about the personal factors that would lead them towards their future betterment goals and the realistic ways of achieving them. In this study the type of non-probability sampling strategy which is purposive sampling strategy was used to conduct semi-structured interviews with 5 women and superintendent of Dar-ul-Aman. Thematic Analysis was used to generate themes and Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis IPA was used to gather the data. The semi structured interview guideline was used to obtain information from the residents of Dar-ul-Aman. The results of the study showed the women with children were worried about their education and young girls were interested in getting education. All of the domestic violence survivors wanted to get employment and were afraid to go back to their houses. en_US
