dc.description.abstract A novel combination of Eighteen different types of di-cationic Ionic Liquids was synthesized, utilizing quaternization and metathesis reactions. Cationic parts were Imidazolium, Pyridinium, and Quaternary ammonium While anionic parts were acetate and bisulfate ion. trans-1,4- Dibromo-2-butene and α,α′-Dibromo-p-xylene were used as spacer chains. Synthesized Ionic liquids were characterized by using different types of spectroscopic techniques i-e FTIR and NMR. This research aimed to assess the effectiveness of the ionic liquids against a wide range of resistant bacterial strains that are commonly present in the environment, including both Gram positive and Gram negative species. Resultant zone of inhibitions demonstrated that the tested ionic liquid exhibited notable antibacterial activity against the targeted bacterial strains. en_US
