Abstract:
The rapid advancement of technology in the past few decades has drastically changed our daily lives. From morning routines to sleeping habits, transportation to communication, cultural norms to daily functions, everything is governed by technology and its incursion is getting stronger and stronger by the day.
In regards to communication, social media has become an integral part of our lives in the past decade; allowing users to communicate not only verbally but also share their lives in a much more natural and true-to-life manner. As such, a lot of efforts have been and are being made to introduce virtual reality into the social media world to create even more realistic and immersive experiences.
Both social media and virtual reality, being fast-growing industries, are welcoming newer ideas every day. Consequently, 3600 images and videos were introduced which give a spherical or all-around view of the concerned environment making it more realistic. But creating these spherical images and videos required expensive equipment and skill with special image-stitching software. Not anymore!
ZAVYA is a cost-effective way of creating 3600 pictures and videos through a smartphone and sharing them online; catering to the problems of expensive equipment and personal skill set of the user. It is an android application which uses two externally attached fish-eye lenses (costing about US$10) to capture the front and back picture and video streams and connects them to produce 360 degree field of view, making the creation of spherical images and videos easier and hustle free. ZAVYA also allows live streaming of the videos to social media platforms like Youtube, Facebook etc. just on the click of a button, hence, easing the process for social media junkies.
The world is moving towards the union of physical and virtual reality to bring people across the world even closer. Therefore, ZAVYA has the potential to be a refreshing and highly popular product. It is easy enough to be used by almost everyone and the target audience constitutes a huge market for ZAVYA as the number of social media and virtual reality users worldwide is increasing at an exponential rate.
