This project attempts to make history storytelling more interactive in museums by introducing, installing, and implementing augmented reality technology in a traditional museum set up. By adding supplementary information through a digital layer of augmented reality, the project helps in enhancing the museum visitor’s experience of learning, exploring more information about a particular era as well as involving them at individual level while they get to experience the augmented reality images through their personal smartphones. The demonstration of how the project can be installed and exhibited at the targeted location i.e., Pakistan Monument Museum, Islamabad, also serves as an example for its future approach and implementation with respect to giving a digital make-over to a specific area in a museum for provision of information, more understanding and giving a new perspective to museum visitors. |
