Abstract:
DIET (digital image elasto tomography) is a technology use to detect breast cancer at early stage. In DIET,
fiducial markers are applied on the surface of the breast and then mechanical vibrations are applied on
its surface. Five digital cameras are used to take images and capture surface motion. In this research
reduced order model is presented for DIET in which vibration modes of an elastic membrane and Fourier
Bessel coefficients are found using frequency and amplitude response of oscillations. Then by comparing
values of these Fourier Bessel coefficients and mode shapes of the membrane, healthy and tumour cells
are identified.
