dc.description.abstract Increasing demand of MTC and IoT with voice and data service. Major challenges to be addressed in 5G waveform schemes are to support asynchronous transmission, Good localization property & to Support small packet. OFDM used in LTE will cause strong OOB emission of signal due to unsupportive nature to asynchronous transmission. Filter-based waveforms have been widely studied to meet the requirements. Filter-based waveforms support asynchronous transmission and reduce OOB through different filter designs. Filtered OFDM and Universal filter multicarrier are two filtered based waveforms can be used to meet 5G requirement. Increasing role of 5G in communication sector demands high level precision and accuracy to increase system performance. Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO) is one of the key factor in multicarrier systems causing degradation in system performance. Need of the hour is to accurately estimate and compensate CFO to enhance the system performance. This thesis is all about above discussed two waveform schemes frequency synchronization by accurate estimation and compensation of CFO. en_US
