A modified split ring resonator with enhanced permittivity sensitivity for different materials at
microwave frequencies is presented in this paper. A novel split ring resonator geometry has been
designed by increasing cross-section in the capacitive region to get larger electric field
confinement in this region of the resonator. In this study various dielectric samples have been used
both with basic/conventional and modified design of split ring resonator for comparing
permittivity sensitivity capability of the designs. Various theoretical and simulation analysis are
presented to explain enhancement methodology with regard to permittivity sensitivity of split ring
resonator. |
