Abstract:
The documentary “Reflection on Solemnity Rituals of Bari Imaamasa” mainly revolves around Bari Imaam which is the shrine of the great Sufi saint of Qadria silsila, Shah Abdul Latif Kazmi. It draws attention to the perceptual significance of the rituals performed by the devotees by incorporating the interviews of devotees and caretakers of Bari Imaam. Secondly, it highlights that how visiting, worshipping or performing different rituals is aligned with the teachings of Islam by incorporating the interviews of Islamic scholars and clerics belonging to different sects. Almost eight interviews have been made a part of the documentary i.e. Maulana Saif Zada Habib-ul-Allah, Dr. Sajeeda Jameel, Dr. Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Ramzan, Syed Shahid Hussain, Saeen Tariq Mehmood, Rameez Shahzad and Shamim Hussain. Every Interviewee has its own significance and knowledge regarding the topic. The project has been completed in ten months and carries a lot of importance as no such documentary has been made before that focuses on one aspect of the shrine in so much detail and depth. Furthermore, the Bari Imaam shrine has been fully constructed few months back (i.e. August 2016) so this is going to be the first ever documentary made on this particular shrine.
